Sawyer Lindquist Tempranillo

Tasting Notes:
This gorgeous wine exhibits black cherry aromas, flavors of tart cherries and ripe plums framed by smoky spice notes. This wine has a velvety texture on the palate with great depth and a long, lingering finish. The grapes for the wines are from our biodynamic Sawyed Lindquist Vineyard, which was Demeter certified in 2009.

Pumped over twice a day. Pressed October 9, 2008. Put into 40% new French barrels. Finished malolactic fermentation November 21, 2008. Put into neutral barrels November 2009 and blended with 1 barrel of Alban Clone Grenache from Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard. Aged an additional year in barrel.

Punched down by hand twice a day. Finished primary fermentation by November 13, 2008. Barreled down into neutral barrels. Finished malolactic fermentation by February 17, 2009. Blended with Tempranillo in November 2009. Aged in neutral barrels for an additional year.
